Yahoo Hand-crafting
This is how Yahoo hancrafts SERPs. Sorry about re-posting this mut I just fear that the original might suddenly disappear from Flickr. This leak is another cock-up from Yahoo.

Technorati Profile

Technorati Profile
Just added this blog to my profile and noticed a funny thing - Technorati counts each item in your list at live.com as a separate posting - what a silly girl!

I Rrrrreally hate it!

It took me about an hour writing my previous post. The bloody WYCWYG editor they use on live.com crashed my Firefox several times in a row. Microsoft seems slow at changing its bad habits that are namely:
  • testing their beta products on users
  • hatered of all software that doesn't come from Microsoft
  • addiction to WYCWYG concept without being able to code it properly
on the last point from my experience: when using Firefox DO NOT change to HTML - this editor not only can not handle HTML escapes correctly it also tends to insert an arbitrary number of br tags (in my case over a million  ) enough to make any browser crash.
On the up side: spaces have an in-built statistics which is terribly nice of them, cool

Tips on blogging on MSN LIVE SPACES

Here is how to post to your MSN Live spaces with email
Easy-peasy:
  1. Go to Edit Your Space->Options->E-mail Publishing.
  2. Turn on E-mail Publishing.
  3. Choose a secret word.
When you've done this you can post with any email client from email addresses you specified.
Now, when it's all set up you can also post to your blog with any post client that can understand XML-RPC by sending MetaWeblog API requests to https://storage.msn.com/storageservice/MetaWeblog.rpc with your username and secret word as a password.
You can set up FLICKR to do this for you in the same way I've done for my LiveJournal!

MSN live bSEO - a second glance

At a second glance facilities coming from the best search engine to be a rather funny indeed.
  • It Produces ugly Permalink URLs (unlike but very much like )
  • There is nothing like tags (perhaps rel=tag will help)
  • It is slow like a snail
On the upside - at least you can do some html editing and I also managed to add to its feed block - it had been cracking and squeaking for some time but at the end munched it OK.

LZZR bSEO on MSN Live

So we begin bSEO experiment on MSN Live which is striving to become the best search engine
First Impressions: MSN is as expected - slightly dumb but not as retarded as Yahoo.
Good points - it allows unlimited number of feed blocks with up to 10 entries and no entry text displayed, so you get a bunch of backlinks by default with no risk of diluting your own content from the source. Another good thing is as expected MSN likes itself more than anything so MSN blogs should do well on MSN, let's see how it does on Google though...
